I agree on corporate art and its raison d'etre, but I think we are talking apples and oranges here.
1. AI is yes, a capitalist technology, but it is still technology. It's like saying we should not use aqueducts because they were made by the Romans in a slave economy. To me that argument feels thin. Yes, we should analyze, and deeply, how AI is capitalistic, but that does not make the technology itself some kind of evil incarnate (and yes, copyright and environmental impact need to be solved, yes!)
2. I deeply disagree on all AI art feeling same as corporate art and it sounds to me like you have seen too much DALL E output (which sucks). There is an issue of volume here: AI is unlocking so much frustrated visual design (meaning that those creating it would have never been able to make it before) that there is a temptation to paint (see what I did there) with a single brush of AI garbage, spam, bullshit. I did look at "pure human" platforms for art that have risen as a response to AI art, like Cara and, however much I wanted to appreciate it for what it stands for...the art there is as much of a mixed bag as what I see in the MidJourney public galleries. I do not say that to insult the artists. The point is, it is always a matter of proportion: 90% of everything is bullshit, I think the rule of thumb goes. Same for art. Human art. AI art. You name it. There is just so much flooding of AI art at the moment that we are all a bit overwhelmed, I think. Let's give it a second to settle down, shall we?
Again, I am 100% behind you in the social critique, but sometimes famous authors need to pull their head out of their own ass. :)
